WHITES 6000 PRO XL

Hi I am a newbie here and just bought a Whites 6000 PRO XL
in excellent condition can you tell me what I should have paid ?
I'm happy at $375 as came with a Blue Max 350 snooper coil & seemed
reasonable to me yet some one told me I paid too much for an old
machine (99 I think)
I havn't tried it out yet except air test as just came in post today,
and would it be equal or better than my old faithfull Garrett 2GB
Ground hog which is an oldie but amazing goodie
Any feed back would be appreciated
Cheers

[size=large]an excellent detector! One of the best White's has ever offered, and there is a very loyal following, to be sure.

It is capable of better depth of detection than their XLT or DFX. Has the best analog display, ever. Ample operator control. Lets the operator choose to use the auto-tracking circuitry or (my preference) set a good functional GB for a site and lock it in.

The 3x6 coil is their Blue Max "Shooter". The 4" coil is their "Snooper" coil. Personally, I didn't care for the performance of the 3x6 Shooter Blue Max as it didn't compare with the same size/type coil for the DFX/MXT/M-6 models.

The price you paid was reasonable, in my opinion. It it were me I'd sell the 'Shooter" coil for $50 or so and that would put me in the 6000 Pro XL for $325, and that's not bad.

Take your time to learn it well and master it. You'll be surprised with the performance it offers!

"Has the best analog display ever" I agree, truer words were never spoken. You got a good deal.

Great choice! This is my detector of choice simply because of its simplicity & speed.Try the 5.3 blackmax or the newer 6" coil.Separation of targets& weight difference make this unit easier to use with less fatigue.Visit the analog forum for complete instruction on using this detector.DBULL

Thanks for your great feedback and positive response and I am looking forward to getting out on a nearby beach
This is a fantastic hobby almost like fishing where as you don't know what you are going to pull out next
I will check out the newer 6" coils as suggested
Thanks again
Been doing more air testing and finding SAT mode much easier and more responsive than TR settings
Didn't come with books unfortunately but found this site for anyone looking that needs to locate
