Whites Lower Rod- Where Did You Drill Your Drain Hole?

I've got a Whites tall man lower coil rod which I'd assume has the same mount as a normal Whites rod, it's just longer than those. Anyway, the coil mount is attached to the rod via two black plastic looking "rivets". It looks like there might be a lot of "beef" in that area inside the tube so I'm not sure just how high I need to drill a hole in the shaft to give myself a drain hole when wading the water. If anybody has figured this out post a picture if you can or at least a mesurement of how far above the top rivet (if needed). I guess I could stick a measuring tape all the way down the shaft and use that as my reference but I'd rather not have to take the lower shaft off my custom GT build for a while. I just zip tied all the cables exactly where I wanted them a few days ago and don't plan on switching coils for a while.

I'd like to drill this hole as close to the bottom as possible to avoid any water being trapped.

So long as I drill a very tiny hole and cure the edges with epoxy to avoid the carbon from shedding I don't think it should be a problem. I've drilled similar carbon tubes for plane wing structural support where two parts screw together and never had the carbon fail at that location. I'm talking about on planes that's wing loading can approach huge numbers (well over the less than two pounds that one of these coils weighs) when doing loops, rolls, and other high G stunts. This is also using carbon tubes of a smaller diameter than the Whites shaft. Have you had one fail on you and how? I want to hear any horror stories before I commit and use the better part of judgement on the matter.
