White's M6 vs. Minelab X-Terra30/50 Hey Greg & Monte please read this HELP!

Hi Greg & Monte,

What do you guys think of this idea? The two of you get together
with the aforementioned machines and take turns using them in the
same settings, preferably together at the same time. If this is not
possible then perhaps the idea of shipping the same two machines
back and forth and using them in various settings that you commonly
hunt so that can draw some reasonable insight from your vast detecting
knowledge bases respectively. This would include sharing with each other how you set up and run each machine, trying each others methods
and then tweaking it to your own style. I think that this and if
you were to even expand the circle of experienced testers would give
many of us who are thirsty for knowledge greater insight into making
a choice based on our own needs regarding the most common type of
hunting we do as individuals. It seems Tom in Ca. would be another
good tester. Please do exclude MXTs, Quattros, any of the Explorer
family or similar high end machines from this test as this is a
midline-machine test not an apples and kiwi fruit(I know New Zealand
not Australia) my dog is better than your dog gig. I know you guys
are all busy men so this is just an idea and I hope you would find
it interesting. I am wary of field tests as they are often fraught
with the goal of a manufacturors best possible outcome(although
so far the X-Terra reports seem on the up and up, but the M6 are
still pretty much pending) as I am wary of longtime brand loyal
well intentioned users who may not always convey their little tips
or tricks(which they carry over to the new machine) to those of us
who may not grasp the subtleties of their knowledge/skill base
only to find the machine does not fit our style/comfort level.
What I would hope for is a dual report that would enable many
of us to make a real good well informed choice, in my estimation
this benefits both manufacturors(if one machine falls short in some
areas or needs tweaks, they can then do so) by way of giving their
respective followings continuity and by attracting new customers
who upon gaining knowledge may become loyal lifetime customers,
rather than garage sale sellers lost to the hobby out of frustration.
Again I realize that this is a lot to absorb or do but I think it
would be a huge gain realized for the hobby. BTW for anybody enduring
errrrrr reading this long winded post and understanding what the heck
I just said...give yourself a cookie ;)

Jeff

p.s. Airtest? Did you say airtest? When was the last time you
saw a levitating good conductive target? Hmmmmm, well we're waiting...
