Whites MX-5 Tones

pitcher

New member
Me and several other MX-5 owners have been trying to get Whites to do some thing about the tone problem, this machine has real issues, Whites is pretty much saying user error to guys who have been using Whites machines for the past 30 years, On the whites forum page fox just closed the thread because to many were jumping in and Whites is just saying its running noraml.
I never thought I would live long enough to see Whites pull some thing like this.

Pitcher

White's is looking into the problem and trying to duplicate it. I'm sure they will take care of anyone with a problem just like they have been doing for decades.

You and two others have reported the problem on the White's forum while many, many others have had no problems with the MX5. Be patient and it will get resolved.

pitcher, White's has also replaced your MX5 once already and will continue to support you until you are happy with your machine! That's just the way they work. Just give them some time here.

Hi pitcher ....

Just wanted to be clear ....

1. Whites has replaced your MX5 once
2. You have spoken to Whites tech support and customer service on more than one occasion
3. You have been made aware that Whites is working on the issue
4. Whites has reported back once on the open forum already
5. Your PMs to me have been forwarded to Admin and to Whites Customer Support
5. I have the MX5 and can't duplicate the problem
6. Exatcly two others have noted issues. At least one said "it doesn't do it all the time"
7. As reeseb noted there are lots of folks using MX5 that aren't having issues
8. I closed the thread because it was becoming a rant. Nothing new was being said and the discussion was becoming "personal". The entire thread is there for others to see. It wasn't deleted. Just as I told you in the several PMs we've exchanged.

And I guess your following post "doesn't count" any more ??

Thanks Steve from Whites and fox from Whites forum, two great stand up guys.

Please .... Give Whites the opportunity to research and identify any possible issues with MX5. Whites will take care of you ....

Thanks .... Fox

Fox closed your post so that you would be prevented from continuing your rant against White's who is actively working to solve the problem and get you back to using your MX5.

YOUR POST IS STILL ON THE WHITE'S FORUM AND IT IS STILL VIEWABLE BY EVERYONE. NO ONE IS TRYING TO COVER UP NEGATIVE COMMENTS.

Mentioning White's personnel on this forum and continuing your rant here is unacceptable, in my opinon, and I have let the Moderators know that.

So just be patient and lets White's do their job.

AND WHY DO YOU USE TWO DIFFERENT USER NAMES HERE? PITCHER AND BASSTRACKERMAN

Happy Thanksgiving!

Im basstrackerman..i dont know pitcher so dont get us mixed up..lmao wow. He is another guy that is having similar issues if you would read the posts you would know that. Also fox mentioned a whites employees name on his last post is why i also did otherwise i wouldnt have..i understand whites is looking into it but as long as people are asking questions im gonna answer.. Have a great day to!! ;)

Sorry for the mistake with the user names.

Still, this post is nothing but a rant against a company who is doing their best to help you and make things work right for you - unnacceptable on any detector forum.

I can almost smell the turkey!

This was the last private message i got from whites...said the videos show a good working detector... I had to call in just to find out what was going on..another whites guy did call me and said he would look into it.

Re: mx5 tones change
I do not mind telephoning you, however, first would like to know what your MX5 is doing that is not as it is suppose to. As VCO and Tone ID perform perfectly in your video, they change audio tone like they are suppose to, I need to know what your MX5 sounds like when Tone ID and VCO are turned OFF.

So far you videos show me what your MX5 is suppose to do, it would be helpful to see what exactly the concern is.

Please forward another Video, (VCO and Tone ID OFF), then (VCO and Tone ID turned ON).

Tone changes using VCO and tone changes using Tone ID, is not an issue, that is what these features are suppose to do (vary the audio pitch based on target conditions).

I have had several technicians and engineers review your videos and they all agreed, your video demonstrates the way VCO and Two Tone ID are suppose to work (they are suppose to change the audio pitch exactly like you show in the videos). And all agree, VCO ON, and Two tone ID ON, your video shows normal operation. The only way to proceed is to see how your MX5 performs VCO OFF, and Tone ID OFF.

:cool:I used to be a loyal and dedicated Whites fan. I was even featured in one of their magazines. I gave up on the company shortly after the introduction of the prisms and the discontinuation of the XLT and DFX. Things have gone downhill from there. Sorry Whites, but you guys really need to re-think some things. :nerd:

I was a sold white's user till I bought one of these Vista Gold from Deeptech. Won't go back to anything else now. Here is the dealer in Canada if you are interested in DEEP TECH machines or products. He is the Authorised Distributor for Canada, but will ship to the USA, also. He can be contacted at : neilrd@telus.net . Reasonable prices.

The Vista Gold is a niche detector, it will hit on big iron like a good target. It is more of a one trick pony type detector. Great for relic hunting.... I had one of the first imported into the states, sold it after a couple of months.
