White's PI 3000 question

Could someone familiar with the PI 3000 describe the normal characteristics of the threshold? I tested mine out today, as it's been in storage, and I'm preparing to auction it. I'm pretty sure it's working properly, but it's been so long since I've used it that I'm not quite sure the threshold is how I remember it being. I was only able to take it chest deep (heck, I've never done any diving with any machine yet for that matter), but it seems as watertight as ever.
