Whites PI help

SWMO Mark

New member
I was digging thru one of my junk boxes and found a Whites PI board from 1992. It doesnt have any controls hooked to it. I didnt know if anyone could help me and tell me where the various controls were connected to the board. Thought this might be a good winter project. I have included a picture of the board. Thanks, Mark

I cannot see the board very clearly or any of the plug markings but this is how I think the controls connect.

P7 is ON/OFF SW and the connector along side is the Battery.

Threshold is the three pin connector near C8.

Headphones to the connector near Q6???? Is there another switch on the front panel that I don't know about as it may connect to here instead of the H/Phones? This connector confuses me a bit.

Disc to the connector near R25 & C9

I think the loop connects to the flying red and black leads near R6 & R7??? Is there a plug on the ends of these leads?

Have I left anything out?

I wish you good luck!!??

Thanks for the help. No plugs on the black & white wire, I thought it might be the battery leads because of the color. Mark

HI Mark,
Google Whites PI Circuit,
Click on: Metal detectors theory and practice- VLF, PI and BFO Schematics:

Then click on:
White's Surfmaster PI Schematic Diagram.

If you can read a schematic, this might help
