White's Pulsescan TDI

Sounds really great Steve, now those of us with webbed feet and hands are anxiously awaiting White's to take the next step to build us the greatest submersible, as that is the missing link here. I am not about to take a high end unit and try to water proof it myself and take a chance on flooding it. I know it is a long way off, but I want one and I know I'm NOT alone. Can't wait until you take one of the TDIs to Hawaii and see how it works over there.

Steve...sounds like your having lots of fun with it. That's good to know....the fun factor is important.

I am not sure if you answered this question before, but how is the weight/balance of it ? Similar to a DFX with the Super 12 or lighter since it does not have the meter configuration ?

Thanks,

JC

Steve, how do you think the TDI would handle an old drive-in theater with all the rusty bottle caps? Do you think it could find the silver coins below the rusty caps?

Hi,

I know I've been purposefully waving the unit over lots of bottle caps with nary a peep. The TDI handles them better than a VLF. But I do not think it will see a coin under a bottle cap. Trust me, I could be wrong. The TDI breaks lots of rules.

Target separation is good and the TDI seems to be able to pick coins close to iron. But the stock coil is too big for a really trashy site. Luckily you can use aftermarket coils and so something like the Minelab Commander 8" round mono might be a better choice for a location like you are describing.

Hi,

Balance is perfect. The unit is heavy at 5.6 lbs. but due to the perfect balance it does not feel that heavy. Still, it is a good thing it has the hip mount and chest mount options out of the box. It is fine for coin detecting but if I get to doing 12 hour days nugget hunting I will hip mount it.
