One week!! sent my detector out last Tuesday for some up grades...new coil..cable..gasket change.. complete check up!! It is done and on its way to me all ready!!!! the only cost to me was for the new coil and cable I requested!!! can not wait to give it a swing this week!

Hi BH - I haven't seen you post on here as much lately (although I've been a little lax as well).

I don't know if you remember my friend Gary who used to post here (he was using an Excal at the time), He was an expert at finding lobster trap pieces :). He got rid of his water detectors due to financial reasons but joined me a couple weekends ago at Hampton Beach with his Explorer and KICKED MY BUTT!!!! I hit a ton of targets in the wet sand where all the rocks were on the surface and came away with a good chunk of clad and some cheap jewelry which he on the other hand put his detector across gold, silver and diamonds - he ended up with over a half dozen pieces of 14-18K jewlery with some beautiful real diamonds to boot as well as a few pieces of .925. It was just one of those days where I couldn't get my coil over the good stuff!!!

My CZ20 has finally started showing some signs of wear so I just picked up a BH300 recently and am hoping to give it a try this weekend and then take it along to Barbados on vacation for it's first offical workout! You told me a long time ago to go with a BH, so though I'm a bit late, I'm finally giving it a shot.

I may ask you for a little advice/tips/hints along the way in the next month or so.

It's been a really busy year for me and I haven't gotten out nearly as often as I wished - the wife losing her job this past spring hasn't helped matters any. Anyways - hope you've had another good season and looking forward to running across you out there again soon.

Paul

Hey Beach Hunter, I had the same turnaround time as you when I sent mine in for the original 300 upgrade (GREAT SERVICE)!!!

I'm glad to see you posting as its been awhile! :yo::usaflag::whites:

I had one of the very first Beach Hunters with the super 12 conversion....I put god only knows how many hours on it!! So figured it was time to make a up grade, get a sort of tune up...want to be ready for my Key West trip this month. Plus my first 12" coil was kinda a test..no one really knew what to expect from the 12" coil built for deep land hunting....the BHID 300 coil I believe is going to be even better..think it is tuned a little better for water and salt....I visit all the forums every day..just do not post...I share photo's of finds with MAX and another VB hunter...and a few guys up here....post them on FB too for friends only to see....but reasons to not post out weigh reasons to post..sorry..hh I will post some pics of the new coil in action down in the Keys.

If you remember, I had mine converted around the same time as you! I have the same black coil and I guess we were the guinea pigs at that time) LOL:super:

I suppose when my machine needs service, I might have the yellow coil installed as the color alone would make it a little easier to see in the water!

It was DEFINITELY the best upgrade to my BHID!!!!!!!

I have a black super 12 that I took off my B.H.ID...If anyone is looking for a cheap coil to mess around with it has the cable with it...you will just need to add the connector that will fit your detector....it will work on the DFX and Beach Hunter ID.

LOL!!!:heh: I had them return mine with a new connector on the end (paid for it)!!!:

I'll also sell it as I don't have a machine for it! It would work great on the DFX!!!

Thanks!

I just bought a pristine BHID with the stock coil and was thinking of switching to a 12". Is the black coil just as good as the factory yellow coil on the 300? How much you lookin for? Do you have paypal?

I do have paypal $55 shipped..seems fair....the coil has been epoxy coated to add weight and so you do not have to use a coil cover...I was working well when I removed it just wanted to up date my detector before a key west trip. I will take photos and post them so you can see it. It is a great improvement over the stock 950 coil, very deep hits small gold well..
