Who Am I?

Pete in MI

New member
This is a riddle I recently found in a notebook given to the ReStore. The paper was old - yellowed from age.
There was no answer printed on the paper as to Who Am I. It only stated the answer would be given in a later printing of whatever this riddle was a part of.

So hear is the riddle,........what is your answer? Can you back up your answer with Bible scripture references?

Have fun and maybe get a little smarter in the Word from looking up the information to prove your point.

God bless.

Here is the riddle:

Can you solve the Riddle of.....WHO AM I?

Adam, God made out of dust,
But thought it best to create me first,
So I was made before man,
To answer God's Holy plan

A living soul I became,
And Adam gave to me my name,
I from his presence then withdrew
And more of Adam never knew

I did my Maker's law obey,
Nor ever went from it astray,
Thousands of miles I go in fear,
But seldom on earth appear,

For purpose wise God did see,
He put a living soul in me,
A soul from me God did claim,
And took from me the soul again,

So when from me the soul had fled,
I was the same as when first made,
And without hands, or feet, or soul,
I travel on from pole to pole,

I labor hard by day by night,
To fallen man I give great light,
Thousands of people, young and old,
Will by my death great light behold,

No right or wrong can I conceive,
The Scripture I cannot believe,
Athough my name therein appears,
They are to me an empty sound,

No fear of death doth trouble me,
Real happiness I will never see
To Heaven I shall never go,
Or Hell below,

Now when these lines you slowly read,
Go search your Bible with all speed.
For that my name is written there,
I do honestly to you declare.

WHO AM I?

Well, Mike me son, you beat me to the answer which has been on the forum before, but I wasn't sure, as my memory fails me too often! :) May God Bless! Ma Betty

Don't Have The Foggiest! Seems I've Seen This Somewhere Before But Can't Remember Where? And, Obviously, I Don't Remember The Answer Either.

Hi steve, If my memory serves me right...which is always questionable.....I think it was (rentasquid?) J Brown, and we have not heard from him in quite a while! Come on J, get back in the fold with your brothers and sisters-in-Christ, we miss you and everone else who stays away too often! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
