who has used coil 7.5 coilteck

MEV, you don't seem to be getting a lot of replies so I will jump in and contribute on this one.
I have had this coil for a few weeks and I am also still getting used to the 705 (since November 2011) so view my observations with this in mind. Also be sure to read Randy's review. He really gave it a lot of work.
My "down and dirty" air tests showed the coil to give more depth than my stock HF eliptical coil (as you would expect). I got about 3" more on my test 14k gold ring and almost double the stock depth on some coins. This was with the sensitivity at 15 and GB at 34, which reflects my local soil. TID's were almost always the same on both coils, which made using the big coil easier for me. Also helping was the fact that both coils are DD.
Field use really brings out the fact that this is a big coil. I could cover a lot more area even with the reduced sweep speed the coil seems to like. The area that I am currently working didn't see any use before about 1975 so stuff isn't real deep, but this coil has no problem bringing up coins from 6" to 7". However it is a very large area so even though I am not benefitting from the extra depth this coil affords, the extra sweep area is really a plus. Also, since it is a DD coil, working in moderate trash is no problem. I'm eager to try this one on a beach. As coils go this one is pricy, but it really shines in large areas.
I hope all this helps.
