Why a Tesoro?

DiggerDug

New member
I can remember when I was young, kids would say, "my dad can beat up your dad!" Seems funny now but I still here the same thing with metal detectors now. "my detector can beat your detector!". Well I have owned lot's of detectors over the years but I can honestly say that the Tesoro Cibola is the deepest detector I have ever used. I detect with friends that use Minelabs, Fishers, ect.. and ask them if they mind me checking the signal with mine and I have never missed a signal. What it all comes down to is the question "to dig or not to dig?". No matter what features a detector has it all comes down to digging the target. I, like many others may complain about Tesoro not keeping up with the Jones's but truth be told I wouldn't have half my finds if it were not for Tesoro beep and dig machines. And actually my gold finds were due to the fact that others cherry pick with their "Advanced" detectors. Now with that being said as I get older and my bones creek more everytime I bend down and get up. I find myself wanting to cherry pick some areas. That is the main reason I want a Tesoro with a tone id. But something deeper than the Golden. But untill that day comes I will just say to Tesoro thanks for making great detectors. Other companies are moving ahead with features but at the end of the day will their detector find more than my detector? I can say with total confidence "NO!". And that's why I use a Tesoro.

Exactly. Hmm maybe the other companies aren't moving ahead......

This post and the back and forth on the new Outlaw prompt me to offer a thought I've been going to post sometime, anyway. Any machine, whether it is loaded with screens, tones and/or other bells and whistles still only does one thing in the end. It responds to metallic targets in the ground. Certainly the bells an whistles can be helpful, but they're only a machine's best guess. In the end, digging is the only sure way of determining for certain what the target is. I'm a believer in use what YOU like, but there will always be a decent "beep and dig" detector or two in my arsenal.

There is no doubt in my mind if you buy a Tesoro you will find alot of stuff. I think BB hit the nail on the head, "use what like". This is a hobby for me and that means having fun. When the fun stops, then I will do something else. I am person who don't want to dig everything, so the meter and tones helps me make a decision to dig or not to dig. Sure I will miss good stuff, but I don't care
And if the weather is so bad that we can't detect, we can always meet at the 4 Way for a hamburger.

PS .. my chev is better then your ford
