Why I Dig Pennys

TURNMASTER

Active member
This is from my last couple outings. I hit a couple front yards and hit a few oldies. All Pennys. Never did hit silver, there was some (older) clad so I don't think anybody beat me to it.
That Injun is a real nice one, and yes I cleaned it.
The Wheats 59D, 30S, 28D, 17,17D, 11, and the best is a 1911S (semi key) and no I ain't going to clean it.

Looks like those would respond well to Magic Eraser (melamine foam). It's the Mr. Clean brand product that's the white sponge. Works really good for just dirt.

No kidding Nick. I'd love to dig one of those.

Nice coins guys. One day I was getting tired of digging wheat pennies (I'm an advanced relic hunter) so when I ID'd another signal as a penny, I turned to walk away. My own rule is never do that, so I turned around and dug it. It was a solid cast Confederate button. Never leave those signals your unsure about. If in doubt, dig!
Good hunting,
David

I once dug a shallow "penny" signal that turned out to be a two cent piece, a seated dime and two IH, down about six inches!!! That was an eye opener.
