Why so many Deus's for sale?

Not taking time to learn it? Disappointed it doesn't get 2 foot of depth? I don't get it.

Light weight, lightning fast, a monster in iron.

Lately it's all I swing. My other detectors are collecting dust!

I don't see any more than normal:shrug: I have a buddy that may be in the market for one so that's good news.
There's always a supply of all the detectors it seems with the exception of the Impact and there probably aren't that many of them out yet. However , people seem to be hanging on to the ones they have. Deus' may be on the block because there is a new detector coming from Minelab or the eternal new one from Fisher and folks are raising cash to try those. Maybe they want to buy American and are trying the AT Max. Some people may have held on to their Deus waiting for the update and new coils and are disappointed with the new stuff so they're moving on. One thing is for certain , used detectors sure don't hold much of their original value.

Not taking time to learn is the major problem ive seen. I think the deus is so different than American detectors it freaks some people out. Its not that hard to learn but you do have to put some effort in to it.

Best all round detector that I have ever used.

It has found me lots of finds including my Baltimore Maryland pattern penny.

Iam in my 80`s and can swing the Deus for hours without getting arm ache.

Happy Hunting,

Jerry.

It's quite possible they don't know how to set it up. I know I was frustrated when I first got mine. You can tell by my posts here early on when I first got mine how frustrated I was.
Too bad that the XP company doesn't pre-install Andy Sabische's and C.T. Todd's on it for American detectorists and Calabash's programs for all others  (Just picking on ya Calabash.)

There are detectorists who are like junkies. They want a quick fix. They want a quick high without putting in the time and effort. When they don't get their quick fix they move on to something else.

Not sure why I bought mine on the classifieds on here killer deal
Im a quick learner both with my Etrac and Deus yeah I dig more with
My Deus but I can also swing it all day that was my main reason for
Its purchase and I use this machine 5 silvers this past week and a gold ring!

Can"t even sell a NEVER used CTX 3030 as people FEAR buying a used Ctx
with all the War stories of a TOTALLY OVER-PRICED Detector with cheap

Many folk watch youtube vids and think there getting the deepest machine out there, then they sell them lol
I've found some very deep silvers and other coins with mine stock 9" coil!

All true. To me it's so many different detectors In one one package.

Beach high minerals, heck you could hunt gold with it!

I think that's what throws a lot off too ,that it is 5 or 6 different singl freq vlf detectors in one.

How many machines have their controllers in the coil? This makes the deus light, fast, deep----and chatty which Im sure some folks have trouble getting used to. Also some folks like to just turn on and go which is fine but they don't need the deus. I call it the thinking mans machine because every site presents a different challenge and the deus lets you tweek it accordingly.

I will tell you a secret the hf coils take away 95 % of the chatter almost silent at times.

I like to think of the Deus as an enthusiast's detector, a machine with full adjustability on just about every setting you can think of to suit a broad range of sites. I think that fact scares some away from the Deus, especially those first starting out, or wanting a more simplified detector with so called instant results.

I remember a mate who owned a CTX also went out and purchsed Deus after hearing all the rave reviews. First test he did was compared depths on a coin with both detectors, and immediately came up with the conclusion that the CTX was the superior machine. 6-8 months down the track after initally talking about ditching the Deus, something has clicked and he now understands what a potent detector it can be when both set up properly, and utilised on sites that suit its strengths - and also with the realisation that depth isn't everything.

I also think many over complicate things by switching settings, tones and frequencies too often to ever come up with a base program for day to day detecting. Best to stick a base program that offers tones that you feel comfortable or familiar with, and then look at playing with expert settings etc down the track.

So yes, I do think many do part ways with the Deus after finding out it is not a magic wand, it does require a decent number of hours to be confident that you are not leaving good targets in the ground.

To be honest, I really don't see that many up for sale, certainly no more than any other detector. I mean look at how many AT Pros are up for sale now with the imminent release of the AT max.

Wish I had known this before buying the11" but the hf was marketed to folks with mineralzation issues which I dont have plus I've gotten used to it. Just hope I dont miss anything in full tones where the upper tones can be harder to pick out in heavy trash(smile).

You're absolutely right. The mistake I made when I first got the Deus was to try to set up a bunch of specialty programs to fit each site. Finally I settled on one program I really like and just tweek it as needed per each site.
