Widow's mite

Here's a good one to remember when people are down on the homeless. At the Gospel Rescue Mission where I work we have a fund raising going on for a new women's shelter. 2 guys that check into the men's center frequently happened to come to my house to ask about painting the curb for 5 bucks or whatever I could afford, (they had no idea where I lived, were just in the neighborhood). They have a can of spray paint and a set of number stencils. I had them do my curb and gave them 5 one dollar bills. They said "take back 3 dollars for the women's center fund". What a great heart in difficult circumstances.

Very loving indeed! Steve, I think in these difficult times people will be much kinder and giving, because it's in the trials that we seek God to help us and then faith grows! I went to get Cliff's and my prescriptions filled, but they didn't have the med to fill his until the 26th, so will have to go back for his med. I did some shopping while there and when I was checking Cliff's things out, before mine, a customer waiting behind me was very helpful and put the items in the cart for me and then did the same while the cashier was checking out my items. She even commented how nice it was for a customer to help put the bags in the cart for me and her! Guess I really look old and dilapidated! I told her thank you several times and hoped someone helped her when she was older and needed help! She said, Oh, I probably won't even live that long! Wonder how old she thought I was??? I told her oh I think you will, but of course depends on many things in life, including Jesus catching His own up into the air!

I went to the car to put the items away and was lifting Cliff's cat litter bag out of cart to put in trunk, and this lady came along with her daughter and asked if she could help and I said, I would be okay, but she reached down and took the Laundry Detergent and Clorox out of the bottom of my cart and put them in the trunk and then helped with rest of the bags! Then she took my empty cart along with her cart to get rid of them both and I said, Oh, thank you very much and God Bless you! She went on and I got in my car and drove home! Cliff was waiting to help carry the bags from the door to the garage to the kitchen! He usually doesn't help, because of his inability to breathe for very long while working, but he is doing better and we got the items put away! God is gooooood! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, for Your help through others helping me! God Bless! Betty
