Will a tune up, fix my GTAx-1250?

I sent my Garrett GTAx-1250, in for repair a couple years ago and had a new LCD installed. Anyway, along with the lcd repair Garret, did a recalibration or a tune up of the machine. I never noticed any difference as I thought my 1250 was acting fine.

Fast forward 2 years later.

My 1250 is acting so inaccurate in vdi readings. Silver seated dimes and silver reales show as pulltabs in air tests, clad dimes never ever id as dimes, and other vdi readings seem to be way off. Will a calibration fix this? What I want to know is if any of you sent your machine in for recalibration and noticed better accurate vdi readings. And what does a recalibration do?

Thanks in advance
Jason

I've never had to send mine in for recalibration, but I'm sure that Garrett's will fix it for ya' if it's actin' up. I took my GTAX 1250 out for a swing the other day for the first time in years and it worked superbly. As far as I know a recalibration is just like a tune up for your detector. I have no idea how it's done, but people do have it done to their detectors. Best of luck to ya'. Happy Hunting!:)

Hi Jason, I sent my ADS7 in it just quit working. Garretts fixed it and returned it, now it works but can,t get the bell-tone back like it was. It was $58.00 to fix it and returned, so hope you the best. Dean
