Will Fisher ever make a water proof to compete with At Pro?

Just wondering, if Fisher ever plans to make a unit to compete with At Pro? Does anyone know? How could we find out? I am getting very close to purchasing an At Pro, but I really like fisher and would rather stay with them.

Not even an hint of an inkling of a rumor about anything like that coming out from Fisher anytime soon.
If you need a waterproof machine get the Pro.
You can always sell it if Fisher comes out with something to match it but that probably won't happen for awhile...if ever.

Well I was afraid of that.., they are missing a huge opportunity, they have a ton of loyal costomers that would buy one as soon as it came out.

I know right? We have been hammering this topic for years, at least 3 now since the Pro came out... I have followed that Pro Forum since jump and got all mad a few years back and bought one. Fired it up and hit the water.

That waterproof 70 would be my thought of the PERFECT rig too.......Couple things, once the Pro says its done with the batteries, you can put them into the 70 and get another 10+ hours out of them! So they make a pretty good team in that regard...I only use my Pro in the water, have never once hunted dry dirt, or even a totlot with it...

You read the Pro forum a little and you will see they are being successfully used for all sorts of hunting styles, from clad grabbing to old silver, relics, to park beach gold..The F70/AtPro pair seems to make a guy a better hunter in all genres of hunting, the skills are transferable, and seem to have the effect of sharpening each other...like maybe using both a recurve and a compound for archers...one builds strength, the other accuracy...both are fast....perhaps not a good analogy, but I find myself getting better with the 70 by using the Pro and vice versa...maybe its just hunting skills developing over time?.

A few years back one of our guys ("Timmysis" was it?) waterproofed a 70, I'm keeping my eyes out for one to someday modify for this purpose....until then, the F70/AtPro make a good team, and open up all sorts of days to hunt in any weather and shallow water..

With the At's success I can't believe there hasn't been anything to compete with it in it's price range. It's possible that the other companies feel there is no money to be made in that price range? Whites did enter the TRX to compete with the Propointer. Maybe Whites has plans on dethroning the ATpro's?

Along with the AT's success , I would imagine , also came a warranty nightmare. They took a big chance making an affordable yet idiot proof....waterproof detector. The warranty situation on electronics that are supposed to be waterproof yet affordable must be an expensive cost for the company. I think most manufacturers would rather stay on the safe side and skip mid range waterproof machines.
