Winter Slow season Post .........

Since it is a little quiet still on the forum..cold in most places etc.... Thought I would ask.

How many of you still use the original Black & Gold F-75 ????????

What are your best results with this detector.. Deepest coin ?? Oldest coin... Favorite find ??

What are your thoughts on the Original F-75 ???

Well I started off with a all black Ltd I ran it for 3 years and sold it when I thought I could find something better. Now when I had the Ltd I never ran anything but the boost processor. Now that I have the a original black and gold I am forced to run the DE processor and this is like learning the detector all over again. So being I just got this std F75 a few weeks ago I don't have a lot wonderful finds. My second shot hunt between the snow storms I did manage get this season started off with a nice 1939 silver dime.

I wish I would have started off with the std and then moved to the Ltd.

Hindsight is 20-20 or better.

Elton, it sure has been a long winter here in northeast Ohio and it looks like we might have another week or so until it thaws. I bought one of the first F75's a month or so after they came out and really liked it. I believe the first or second time out with it I found a Barber dime at my favorite detecting spot. This coin was pushing 10 inches deep and was one of the deepest silver coins I ever dug at this place. My original F75 could not get within 50 feet of an overhead power line. Some of the old parks I hunt are criss crossed with very old lines. I think the older bare lines made this detector very erratic. In most places it was Ok. The weirdest finds were two gold teeth crowns. The F75 hit both of them very hard and for being small gold, they were both about 5-6 inches deep. They were both found at a local fairgrounds about 50 feet apart. I would not doubt that there was some kind of hard candy sold in the area.

I started the fisher world with a standard F75 and I still have it.
I have found civil war bullets, buttons, costume jewelry and many coins with it as well. I want the Se/LTD version but I'll tell ya...it would be difficult to let my standard F75 go...it's like an extension of my arm...very intuitive and so easy to use.

Possible that next spring I will take that step to the LTD...or maybe even the one that's supposed to be coming out soon!

I also have had the standard anniversary edition of the f-75 since it came out, and still have it. I have used it many years and like LittleJohn says "it's like an extension of my arm".
My oldest coin found at 6" deep was a 1696 silver English shilling, here in Pennsylvania.

Hard to remember the deepest found because there are sooo many finds.....My guess would be, coin wise, about 9" deep. It will get way deeper on larger objects and very deep on lead...it loves lead almost as much as it loves iron.

Before winter hit. I purchased a LTD. It will take getting used to the boost process as it is different than de mode somehow...haven't put a finger on it yet. I think it's audio is longer and it seems like the unit is slower in boost, but not, (hard to explain) so a slower swing speed may be needed....We're not used to swinging the 75 slow.

The little 5" coil with boost on is killer in amongst old iron nails and your swing speed will automatically slow down so your brain can hear all the targets. The 11'dd coil to me is one of the top coils out there, even if they had some leaking problems in the past.

I don't think I could sell the old 75....... It may sound ridiculous, but we're like old buds. More stupid to say, is that I would feel like I sold a good loyal dog.
