Wondering where hopes and dreams go...

Pete in MI

New member
Once thought realistic and something to look forward to and be joyful once fulfilled...now just things that frustrate me and make me upset about those hopes and dreams.

What once was hoped for is no longer hoped for. My dreams...they went with the missing socks from the dryer. I cannot recover those lost hopes and dreams.

Setting new hopes...new dreams just seemsto not be worth wasting time doing.

I have but one answer to it all...come quickly Jesus.

THE LOST DREAM IS STILL THERE. KEEP LOOKING AND IT WILL TURN UP.
DON'T FORGET, LET GO AND LET JESUS.
GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME.
GOD BLESS YOU PETE.

Amen Mike! Never give up! Even though there are many dreams that go unfulfilled doesn't mean I stop dreaming. I've wanted to return to the Philippines, build a new children's home, for those without mom's and dad's, and minister to the lost and lonely. God hasn't given me the means to build that dream but it can still happen. Don't give up Pete, as God isn't finished with you yet.

Pete,

At this time of the year our "hopes and dreams" should be turned toward the Lord and all of the blessings that he has given us. You, like many of us, are blessed to live in this country, have a home, a car, clothes and even a computer. We may not all have the top of the line model but we have them and there are many, many across our land that don't. Jesus told us to be content with what we have. All of these things are on loan to us from a generous God and because of that we need to be Jesus to those who don't have even have the basics. A life lived for the Lord should be our only "hope and dream".

Amen Steve those are some good words. I need to take a look at the many many blessings GOD has given me too.

Pete,
Hope you are reading all the great advice. The only thing I can add is Look towards the future not at the past. God has a plan and hopefully he will reveal it to you soon.

Hi Pete, I do know how you feel, as I've been alone and on my own for years and sure gets lonely during the times the world is celebrating in their ways, but our hope lies in Jesus and not mankind! We must keep our hopes and dreams alive and allow God to guide us in the direction and the fulfillment of what He wants and has planned for us through our love and obedience in Jesus! The world seems and is unfair in so many ways but let us not look on what others have as we can always find others who don't believe in or live for Jesus seeming to be much better off than us and, yet, are they really? If they don't have Jesus, whatever they have here will not last and then in the time of their death there is no hope for them to have eternal life; therefore, let our hearts be filled with Jesus' forgiving love and pray for those who use and abuse us and who seem to not care even my children but they do the best they can in this economy, too, trying to keep their homes and their finances able to pay the bills that are getting higher and higher!

Through the years I have found out God provides even when I am the loneliest and everything to me looks like no one loves me and how am I going to keep living in my house....But Jesus does and I know His love carries me through until the day we do go and meet Jesus in the air or mortal death comes first with our knowing we have a crown waiting for us and a beautiful Home in glory where there is peace and love forever more! Let us lean on Jesus and trust in Him, for only He is worthy and able to carry our burdens for us each day....soooo let us, Let Go and Let God take care of everything as He directs and guides our footsteps on the way to go and be provided for in all ways not as we want but as He knows what is best for us! Amen! May God Bless you, Sherry and family with a Very Merry Christmas of love and mercy and with a most blessed and happier New Year! Amen! Ma Betty

in gods time! some receive there reward in heaven!!! praying for you!!!

Random thoughts for ya Pete,

I know how you feel, been there. I have also found new dreams and revived some of the old. I simply have changed some of the scope to suit my now middle aged mind and body. Sometimes I just walk away from the house, cars, kids, wife and whatever to just get away. Go out and find an old friend, laugh with a new friend, be alone and/or commune with God. If I am feeling down I lay it out and tell him the depth of that feeling. We should take Davids lead. In the Psalms some of what David says does not sound particularly spiritual. He was laying it out there to the Lord as if He was (is) his best friend. God knows and I think David gives a good model that even if God knows he wants to hear it from us directly.

I think
A dream spoken becomes a goal
A goal without a plan is just a dream

A dream with a plan is achievable!

Jesus was regularly fellowshiping with large groups. Having dinner with friends he loved.

I love the book of Ecclesiastes. Now go eat, drink and be merry.

Good luck Pete

Beautifully said, Steve! And our contentment can be found only in Him, not in anything here :).

God bless you, and Merry Christmas!
