If your disability is prefaced by not being able to stand for long periods of time or not being able to lift more than 5 lbs. then I'd be careful when and where I did it.

That is a question best answered by an Attorney. The last thing you would want to happen is be charged with felony insurance fraud!
 
If you are healthy enough to be walking around swinging a detector and bending over or digging stuff up with a scoop, then you are well enough to get back to work. Yes the physical demands of work might be noticed more because you aren't having as much fun, but if you can "play" through the pain then you can just as well work through it. Stop scamming the system and get back to work.
