WOT 15" coil vs. excellerator 18" coil

Hello,
Iam sure that this question has been asked before but I need to hear the pros and cons of the WOT 15" coil vs. the excellerator 18" coil for the explorer. I am referring to the DD coils only. Which one goes deeper on silver. Which one is more sensitive to smaller gold? Which one is higher quality? Which one is easier to use? Which one is better for using a discrimination pattern? Which is better for higher mineralization?...Are among many other questions that maybe you can answer.
Thanks for the help,
Justin

For the money I think the WOT is better. I have made some nice finds with my 18" ex. but I think the cons outweighs the pros. I have found some coins that I missed with the stock 10.5. I feel that I gain only about an inch depth on coins. The 18" is like a truck steering wheel. It is heavy and bends the lower shaft during sweeps. Dont plan on using it for more than an hour at a time unless you are superman. It is no good in trashy areas. It picks up too many signals at once due to its size and basicly overloads the machine. As for the pros, you do get at least an extra inch depth on coins. If you hunt an area that is relitivly free of trash it is great. It covers much more ground which is good if you dont have much time to hunt a site. And you can save yourself a membership to your local gym and get those Popeye forearms you have always wanted.
I think I will let all the happy WOT owners speak for the WOT

I have a 14" excelerator. I think the 18" is just too big. The 14 " works great and i have not had any problems with it. It pinpoints very good and does give more depth. Still, most of the hunting i do is with the stock coil. I believe that both coils are very good and will give good finds. good luck and HH. Jim P. Rockford< Illinois

I have both and the 18 definitely goes deeper. Neither of these coils should be used where there is alot of trash. The 18 inch is heavier of course and thats where some type of harness sure comes in handy. In my test garden the signal comes in louder with the 18 then the 15 on my deepest buried quarter. Minelab now has a tallmans lower rod which is 4 inches longer. I found that it stabalizes the larger coils better because of, less of the lower rod is extended.
