WOT coils for gold prospecting

I was wondering if anyone has used the WOT coil for gold prospecing and the out comes of it. I don't really even know much about it but dose it work in 18.75 khz? And how small of gold will it pick up. Thanks jess

Certainly Jess, the WOT in 18. khz is a very sensitive coil for prospecting on the XTerra units. As is the 7.5 khz, and when running over hotter mineralised ground the 7.5 khz WOT ever so slightly shines over the 18 khz.

The size of small gold they both will pick up, in-ground and un-dug, depends entirely on the level of mineralisation presisely at the excact spot of detection.
Both frequency's hit well on small gold in an air test, however the edge goes to the 7.5 in hot ground, and the 18.75 in mild ground. In some cases they will both detect gold deeper in undisturbed ground than an air test, after all it is what the detectors are designed to do..... that is, give you many options to choose to hunt in over particular differing ground types, as opposed to near useless air tests.
