I went back to the pounded school yesterday and hunted around an area where I had found a 1914D wheat years ago. There are several layers of fill there that have been added over the years so the old coins are at least 6 inches deep.
As soon as I turn on the XS I get this nice deep signal and it turns out to be the 1960 dime about 7 inches down! I found a couple more wheats and went back to the area where I found the silver last week.
I started at another spot and about 10 mintues in I get the deep signal that hit far right center. It was bouncing up and down slightly and acted just like a deep quarter I found a couple of years ago with the stock coil <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt="
"> When I cut the plug I didn't get a good hit with the probe so I went deeper and sure enough the probe sounded off quarter! It had to be at least 10 inches down and I think it was at an angle. It came out with the 3rd scoop.
