WOW-Got a detector given to me-FREE.........

..One caveat;though-It doesn't work-Its a older White's Coinmaster2000 Series 3 metal detector-
discriminator-The serial # it came with from White's;the PURCHASE DATE(3-25-86)receipt;and ALL THE paperwork-including a stick on"TREASURE HUNTER'S CODE OF 7 ETHICS(there are 10 now)...The guy that gave it to me said either I take it;or its gettin trashed....From the looks of it;it looks brand new-VERY little use;probably been in storage for the last 20 years.Takes 1-9 volt battery;nothin happens when its in;and ya turn it on.ANY IDEAS??Im gonna make a visit to the White's forum;and see what they say.Steve!!!P.S:to Pete-I wont call tonite;but tomorrow at that 1st one ya gave me-OK???

Al down at Prostock could probably fix it with no problem! Could just be a loose wire?

I see now they are prediciting thunderstorms all day Saturday and Sunday too. There are times I wish the weatherman was right but this is one I hope he is again wrong. The originally said it would thunderstorm tonight and clear for the rest of the weekend. Now they say it is going to be clear today.

Praying for a sunny day tomorrow and lots of people buying up all this stuff.


BTW I was given a free detector too awhile back (thanks JR). It is a 70s model Bounty Hunter Professional (BFO) with 2 coils. Looks like new.
Haven't put batteries in it but bet it works like new...well as new as technology was back then.

and has a 9V connector on the top. Many of the old detectors used that system to provide 12 volts without hauling a car battery around. Using only a 9V battery on a 12 Volt system would not be enough power to run it at full efficiency...if it worked at all.

Just a thought. But like Mike said, Al at ProStock could fix it and probably knows or has docs to say what power supply is needed.
