WWII dogtag found today at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC

Today I hunted a rather trashy area where I have found some old coins and a couple CW items over the years where an old house once stood on base. I found a dogtag from WWII and I am presently trying to find the owner. Thus far, I have found that a 65+ yr old living in Randolph, NJ ( 25 miles from the address listed on the tag). I called and left a message, so hopefully this is the owner or his family. If anyone has any tips or leads from the following info on the tag, I would appreciate it, I would love to return it to the owner/family.

WM A CRAVEN JR
12109219 T-43 O
W A CRAVEN
26 HARDING ST
MAPLEWOOD, NJ C

I would love to be able to find him or his family. The T-43 means he had his tetanus shot in 1943. O is blood-type, and the C is Catholic. The Second W A Craven is next of kin (Dad). Thanks again, this was a fun/great find, the best part will be returning it to the owner. Bryan

Cool! Let us know the back story...hopefully the family will tell you all about this guy and he had a wonderful life.

Negative on the person I called, not the right one. Still trying to find leads to find this man. He was born in 1923. His mom's name was Helen E Craven. That is all I know so far, plus that Craven Jr.'s Mom and Dad lived at 26 Harding St up to 1952...the 1954 directory does not have his parents living there, so they must have moved...this per the library in Maplewood, NJ. The search goes on....

I ended up finding his sister in an obit search, which listed Mr. Craven, Jr. as living in Culver City, CA. She was from Maplewood, NJ and had William and Helen as parents, so I know I have the right person....and all the ages are right. After a search for his name, I found an obit for him. He passed away July 4, 2009. I have found sons that his sister had, found addresses but no phone # on White Pages. His obit did not list any sons or daughters. Kind of sad that I missed him by a few years. I am sure he would have loved to receive his dogtag back. I may have to write a letter to one of his sister's sons.
