X-70: Opinion on Marketability

Hi Everyone. I lurk on this form and have learned quite a bit. So thank you for sharing over the years.

I have the subject detector. Bought used a few years ago and not used much. Prior owner hardly used. Between me and the original owner it had a thorough check up by a detector store in Gettysburg, PA.

So, in summary, it works well and is very clean.

My general question: is there sufficient interest on the forum to sell one of these? The reason I am asking is becasue I have no idea what I might want to ask for it.

I am not trying to limit my question to : "how much is it worth?", becasue I realize too many factos influence what it could be worth. I am more interested in understanding if the Minelab Forum folks think that an older, but nice condition, babied X-70 has any marketability (and if you want to give me a rang price, I am open to suggestions).

It has all stock everything - even the little screw to hold control box core inside the handle!. Have original owners manual too.

Thanks.

John

it,s still quite marketable. I don't consider it to be out dated by the 705 model and still use my 70. Its actually my favourite detector due to its overall usability. Even stiil have an Explorer and other detector, but grab the Terra most times.
As for price. if you have no other reference point for which to work with, I would suggest that somewhere from half to two thirds new price would be a good guide.

A working unit would be worth --- $475 - $620 based on wear and tear (condition).

I also have one with the 3khz coil on it, and it has about 18 months use on it. I kept it as a backup to my etrac but it just sits in the corner and never gets used.....I would gladly entertain any trades....
