X-Terra 705 and the beach.

My wife and I visited our son and his wife in Wilmington NC this past mothers day weekend. While there my son and I spent about five hours on the beach. I was swinging my new 705 and my son was using my 70.

As I said my son was swinging the X-Terra 70 with the 5X10 DD 18.75kHz coil. He had never used the 70 before but did manage to find a number of coins.

I was swinging the x-Terra 705 with the 10.5 DD 7.5kHz coil. I have used the 70 a number of times at the
beach and have been very pleased with it's performance. In my opinion the 705 was a bit more stable on the beach than the 70. Thought I would share my setting . First I lowered my sensitivity , selected all metal mode, and selected noise cancel. I then activated the ground balance (beach). I then turned on the target ID stability. I then advanced my sensitivity back to 30. I found that in the dry sand area I was able to run my sensitivity at 30. I then moved into the damp sand area and experience some chattering. I lower my sensitivity to 25 and the chattering stopped. I then moved to the wet sand (at waters edge) and again experienced some chattering. I again lowered my sensitivity to 20 and the chattering stopped. I made no other adjustments to the other settings. The ID numbers on the coins that I found were exactly what they area on dirt. The earring (gold) gave a very solid 18. The Andrew Johnson one dollar coin Id at a solid 44. HH TomB

Good info, thanks Tom.

Boy I sure wish more people would use more $ coins in the good old USA.

Even a few 50c er's would be nice!
