I bought this X-terra 705 new less than two weeks ago, actually on 9 Dec. It has been used one time and is as near to mint condition as you can get. It works fine and I was eager to use it in the coming months.
This detector is getting great reviews in many forums. You have the ability to use the detector in a low frequency, mid frequency, or high frequency simply by changing the search coils. The search coils determine the frequency. This gives you basically three machines in one. I think it is one of the best machines Minelab has produced and it can hold it's own against any machine out there.
On Dec. 15 my wife was fired from her job at Wal Mart, she had been there for 16 years and if I had known that she was getting fired then I would have waited to make this purchase. I do plan to purchase this same detector later next year when the issues with my wife's firing are resolved.
I have owned several Minelabs in the past. One Sovereign, one Explorer and one Explorer II. I can say that Minelab detectors are great for coin detecting. They are deep detectors. The X-terra 705 seems to be a much better machine than any of the three previous machines. Pinpointing is much easier and the overall display is awesome.
Included with this machine is the Minelab digging tool; set of Koss headphones (still wrapped in the plastic, as I have Gray Ghost); the weather cover. I also bought the mid range Double D coil and the stock coil has never been used.
I am basically a relic hunter and have a decent relic machine. I have been relic hunting since 1971. I do plan to purchase an X-terra 705 again in the future when things get settled down from my wife's loss of her job and our loss of medical coverage.
I think it is to late to be a Christmas present, however it is a good way to spend you Christmas money if you want a great metal detector that is getting great reviews.
First $650 takes the machine and everything in the picture, and I will pay shipping.
