x-terra 705 learning curve

Yes it has preset patterns, auto ground baane and tones that you can change. I went from a bounty hunter to a xterra and had no problems.

I would have to say yes.
It has many auto functions that make it easier than the 505 IMO.

The sweet part about the 705 is that you can grow with it for years. Add a coil, learn how it responds to different targets, and renew all your old hunting ground. Experiment with various modes, settings, and coil combinations, and learn what each can do, and you can keep finding things forever. Again IMO, there is no other detector as under-rated as the 705. I can't imagine not having one.

You have to take the 705 in steps. Obviously auto noise cancel and auto ground balance then run in one of the tighter patterns for awhile. Once your eyes and ears get trained to the ID and tones you can advance to Ground Balance Tracking, Coins Plus and some of the other adjustments.

You just can't get discouraged. You'll eventually master it.

Actually with the auto ground balance and auto noise cancel ,it would be good for a beginner.Once you get good with the 705, you can play around with the manual ground balance.

The X-Terra 705/70 is one of the best detectors that MineLab has developed, it's a shame they did not add in waterproof features so that one can go into 5 - 15 feet of water.

Other than that, it complements my other two detectors.

I think Garrett is still thanking their lucky stars for that!

Yeah I think you are right.

That's why I'm waiting for a cheap 305 to come along to waterproof.
Then I'll have an Xterra dive detector that's good for more than 10ft.:super:
