The coil's now been on the detector for 3 hrs & so far it is the most impressive setup I've tried on the beach.
I set the machine in all metal mode, sensitivity on 25, did a noise cancel, put the headphones on, took 3 swings & received a beep located in 14 inches of sand.
5 digs with the sandscoop later & out popped a stirling silver bracelet. Find No 1. [sub](paid $295 for the coil & the bracelets sell for $325 in the Westfield shopping centre.)[/sub]
Things only got better after that. I was swinging at one of the most detected beaches in NSW in the "off season" & can't wait till the weather warms up.
I thought the setup would be too heavy to swing for an extended time but I would liken it to swinging my wife's detector - the AT Pro. After the first hour, you stop hurting when the rewards start coming in.
The 15 inch Coiltek is definately a winner & even though I REALLY HATE TO LET THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG, if you are beach detecting & don't have this coil - you really have my sympathy. Really.
The amount of beach that you can cover in an hour has to be seen to be believed.
Thanks Bob & Judy at Goanna Detectors in Greta for putting me onto this coil. It is already well on the way to paying for itself.
My biggest worry now is that maybe the wife will pull rank & decide that she will "borrow" my detector & leave me with the AT Pro!!!
