I was wondering do the X-terra models have adjustable modulated audio where you can make the deeper targets softer? And how is the 3 khz coil on deep silver? Anybody dig any deep coins with thier's? Thanks.

The audio in the Coin and Treasure mode is saturated and adjustable for volume but not for modulation. The Prospecting mode audio is modulated and is adjustable for volume but not for saturation.

If you are familiar with the FBS series, think of the X-TERRA as having Volume Limit, but not Volume Gain. Deeper or smaller targets may provide an audio response that is "not as loud" as shallow or larger targets. But you cannont adjust the amplification of the target audio response relative to the target's signal strength.
The 3 kHz coil is a silver KILLER, if your soil conditions are conducive to allowing a concentric coil to operate properly. (moderate to low mineralization levels)
From a personal point of view, I've dug more deep silver with my 3 kHz coil than any other X-TERRA coil. JMHO HH Randy

I am familar with FBS machines as I have an E-trac and was looking for a light weight back-up. I was hoping it had the volume gain control to adjust the target audio as that is the way I like to hunt just listening fir the deep soft tone with out looking at the meter. That is one of the 3 things I want in a detector. Some type of target I.D.,tone I.D.,and modulated audio. Not many detectors with all 3.
