Okay. I guess we have different designs because I definitely can't do that with mine LOL. But I think I could rig up a strap or sling of some kind cuz I agree if it hangs off of your hip it'll be bouncing around.

I think that most of us have scoops with long handles, which would make carrying it over the shoulder easier.

Personally, I just drag mine behind me to keep it out of the way and away from the coil. My shovel has a short handle, so when I'm hunting with it I hang onto the handle and then hook my thumb in my belt or hip pocket behind my back to take the weight off my arm and keep it out of the way.
