Yes it is waterproof and that is the only advantage it has over my XT-70/XT705's.
I have had the AT-Pro for a little over a week now, have used it almost everyday.
Boy, Minelab has spoiled me, but I needed a waterproof MD cheap and this is what I got.
In that area it fills the bill.
I wish Minelab would come out with a $500 waterproof MD with a visual ID.
I would buy it at MSRP tomorrow!

I also wish Ronald Reagan was still President!

If they did, I'm sure it would sell like crazy especially if it was better than the AT PRO. I have not gotten an AT Pro because I don't believe it has been out long enough for people to give accurate information about it yet.

Boy, you can say that again!

IMHO after using them both the only reason to get an AT-Pro would be as an addition to the XT-705 due to it's waterproof capabilities,
or if you are always hunting in water and can only afford one machine.

Minelab needs to finely step up to the plate rather than leaving us behind. Also as long as Minelab isn't going to come up with a coil like the Tornado (which looks pretty good) I guess we will not have any choice. I personally want Minelab to step up to the plate and be a "Winner" and not a Troll.
