Hello Everyone...Wetdigger2 here..new member new to hunting. Bought the ML XCAL1000 and have been on the hunt twice in as many weeks. Lots of Alumi pop tabs, nickles, pennies, qtr's..is there hope? Any hints or suggestions for beach digging??

Even though certain trash tone may be similar, they are slightly different. Do comparison air testing. Get a bunch of trash targets and compare the tones to "good" target tones.
Also, start experimenting with your "Disc" setting. normally, beach hunters hunt w/no disc at all and dig everything. Just look at "mr chilie' previous post and look at how much trash he also dug besides the great jewelry finds he obtained.
hope this helps.
happy hunting!

Hey wetdigger2,

Got an excal 800 used last year. It was my first year of hunting. I didn't get my first gold for over a month. Got 18 more and over 70 pieces of siver (rings coins earrings etc). The difference in tone is verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry slight so dig it all.

P.S. Ive only gotten one piece of gold this year. So keep digging they will come!!
