XL Pro questions--any ideas Monte

Fred/in Fla.

I have the xlpro and it seems, to me, that it should do better than it does. I live in central Fla. so the mineralization in the ground shouldnt be a problem. Here are some observations of mine! In the GEB-DISC> and GEB-NORM> modes the machine works about as I expect it should. In TR-DISC.> AND GEB-SAT.> the machine is just unstable and prone to elec. drift and , otherwise, disapointing performance. When I set up the machine to " prospect " and hunt gold, It cant find a 14k gold size 11.5 wedding band laying on the ground. It will in GEB_DISC. I've ruled out elec. interference both above and below the ground. No big machinery in the area either. I want to hunt in the NW area of So.Carolina with it this year and do some relic hunting but I think the machine , as is, may not perform all that well. Any body have any suggestions or ideas? Thanks for any and all help folks! H/H'ing Fred/in Fla

I have the XL PRO and it is a deeep unit.
I can clock a dime at over 10 inch mark
How are you setting this puppy up.
Also the unit may have problems
Go to firstontop.com and see some of my finds with this unit.

Thanks for the response, Clondike, I thought there might have been more people responding though. As for how I set it up.... I pretty much follow the mfg. method with some changes. I don't like the threshold at the "P" setting, I prefer it a little lower. The disc. is set just above nails when in geb-disc. I follow the steps to set the GEB and try to put a little more gain ( sensitivity ) if I can. I've been with this unit almost 2yr's now but only have 3yr's exp. at detecting. Gonna go look at your site now and see what i have been missing.Oh yeah! My deepest find is 7in" in sand for a 50C size Mexican coin. Most of my finds with this machine is less than 4in.

Hi check out this site for info on XL PRO http://www.garysdetecting.co.uk/6000pro.htm
