I have been a white's user for three years or so and recently have been thinking like explorers get more depth based on what I red on forums. Is this true?

I had(still) have one. And I can safely say the the Whites XLT is state of the art.......for when it was manufactured.
The technology is over 10 years old. And at the time, I think that no one could touch it..especially in the mixed mode function.
Today, I'm not sure. The Explorer has made city parks almost....you'll notice I said almost new territory once more. I know guys who are pulling silver out of St Louis city parks!
This week-end it was proven to me when I personaly dug a Navy colt minie at over a foot deep. I have never pulled objects that small at that depth with my XLT.
The Whites XLT is STILL a very reliable solid machine. But if you want to pull coins & relics at depth....what is the name of this forum? <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">
