XP and small coil

Flintstone

Well-known member
Hi all XP users, Dose anyone think XP will ever make about a 6 or 7" coil for the Deus ? I hit a spot that had so many targets that the 11" coil could not keep up. Went and got one of my other detectors with 5" coil and pulled out $6.00 or more in change. I know there is more there, just need a small coil and good knee pads. The dirt was from a old pond that had been cleaned out, should be a ring or two there. Will the 6x10 coil that XP is coming out with work on the V3.2 ? Has anyone got information on the new release?

I had been thinking of waiting until V4 until I read a FB post from Deus's own FB page I was willing to wait until June but not until "God Knows When"

XP Deus version 4 official announcement.
There appears to be a lot of speculation regarding the version 4 update, we would like to clarify some points.

Q : When will the update be available ?
A : At the earliest late summer 2016 possibly longer.

Q: Should I wait for the version 4 before I buy a Deus, someone said they will have a different circuit.
A : No the machines will be exactly the same, the version 4 is a software update, any Deus can be upgraded to a V4 when it becomes available.

V4 is a software update, no change in the actual electronics in the remote so any would be an upgrade. There will be a new coil 4.7x9.5 that allows higher frequencies 10-50 but I will add that when they come out I won't wait for that.

Thats why I decided to go ahead and order now mine should be in Mon/Tue this week, I have patience but not that much ! I didn't want to loose the whole summer, I could have continued using my AT Pro but there you go.

Well,,I don't know what settings you tried,,,but can say,,,higher reactivity can help,,,and if their is can slaw and tabs, etc,,,running high notch will do wonders.

This is actually a secret weapon with Deus... If you don't believe me try the following,,,,take a tab and a dime and place about 1/2" apart,,,sweep in Deus fast and listen,,and watch your meter---- Target will sound like junk and read like junk to boot. Now,, notch 00-80 and resweep the dime and tab combo...the meter reading will be as before,, but check out the difference in the tone,,,a high ringer,,,telling you the dime is there.

This can be applied to other freqs as well--- but notch setting will need to be changed due to lower Vdi on same targets.

You will also notice,,,if you just try to barely notch out a tab for example that reads say 66,,, if you just notch to say 00-70,,, this setting won't straighten out the tone on the tab/ dime combo,,,,instead what you will hear is the Deus actually giving tone on both and blending--- notching 12 points or more over tab will bring in the nice high tone on higher conductor coins.
