XP-DEUS CHARGING?

HaroldILL.

Active member
I was wondering on the DEUS can you charge the coil, display and headphones all at once or due you have to charge seperatly? Thanks.

You can charge both ways...either separately or altogether. The charging cable has three connectors enabling you to charge all three components at once. You can do this with the cigarette lighter adapter also.

how often do you guys charge your machine do you wait until the battery is depleted or do you just put it on charge after every hunt

Either way doesn't seem to affect battery performance - there are others out there who have owned a Deus for 2 - 3 years and have never needed a replacement battery. From what I understand, the battery is identical between the coil, control box, and headphones. Running in 4 kHz will totally deplete the battery after about 12-14 hours of continuous use, since it's stuck in TX = 3 in this frequency.

Other frequencies are able to run in TX = 2 which entends battery life to about 20-24 hours if I remeber the manual correctly. If you use the coil, control box, and phones together you will notice that the coil needs recharging first, followed by the box, and then phones. Haven't had a bit of trouble in partial charging vs charging a totally dead coil.

I left my coil in my trunk, turned on a couple weeks back and arrived at the fairgrounds one night to a dead unit...and forgot to bring my car-charger clip on attachment for the coil. Got home, plugged in, and it didn't take long to fully charge the coil, about 90 minutes I think. I keep my detector, control box, and phones in my trunk almost all the time during hot and cold months. Very rugged but lightweight equipment stands up to unintended abuse, like having a Samson and a Lesche in the trunk with the detector and everything jostles around during driving (I admittedly have a lead foot...less time on the road = more time for hunting!)

Don't think you can go wrong either way you want to charge the batteries!

Is the solar charger still available?
