XP Deus Cross-Talk

A hunting buddy and I are considering the Deus, but are wondering whether we will be able to hunt along side each other without the machines cross talking. We're concerned that the advantage of everything being wireless may be a disadvantage when the two machines get in range of each other.

I dont think you have anything to worry about, because the Deus will seek automatically the most stable channel and you can use the frequency shift, if you and your buddy is using the same frequency.

Since the Deus "looks" for a specific serial number of the coil, would this be a problem at all? Good question!

If you use the same frequency, it will still cause some cross-talking, that's why there is a frequency shift option.

given the dealer can switch out parts as part of a potential warranty repair, does that mean thinks need reprogrammed if a new coil is introduced? And if so, how does that work if you were to buy a second coil to use independently with the headset (like having 2 machines as previously mentioned)?

You can pair the remote and headphones with any of the coils you want to use. You just have punch in the serial number found in the coil to pair it.

All you do is go to the Frequency screen from the menu choose the kHz you wish from the choice of 4- 8- 12 or 18.

You then press the expert button to change the frequency by a few decimal places and the jobs done.

You may find that if you are using a Garrett probe like myself and in the 12 kHz frequency that you will need to change the frequency a few decimal points to stop interferience.

Its all very easy once you have tried it. :beers:Jerry.
