XP Deus Deuce Nickels

I was telling my wife last night that I have not dug any nickels yet with the XP Deus... well that changed big time today. I hit a area that has ground as hard as concrete but after 6 inches of rain this week what a perfect time to go. The ground was as soft. I started digging targets rights away and the first 5 targets were old shotgun headstamps. Then the coins came. Got 4 wheats 11,14,19,34 then i dug a signal that did not produce a VDI but Andy's Book said if you get this high tone don't walk over it. 11 inches down I dug my first nickel and a awesome one! 1900 V. Got a old pocket knife after that. Then on my way back to the car where a old sidewalk was I got a 1945 Silver War Nickel.

Today was a pretty GREAT Day. Also had a little Frog that rang up like a silver nickel... lol he was in the hole with silver

In my 10 hours of use on the Deus I have netted 4 silver war nickels in an IRON infested site.
This site is bout 200 feet by 200 feet. It's an old vacant lot where 3 houses stood that were built in the 1910's
to 20's. I have found nickels from the 40's here also. Pulled a couple rosies and wheaty's too. I know for a fact this has been
hunted by the boys around here with their E's. Thanks boys for the war nickels.There is so much Iron
here that I believe there has to be plenty left here. I've just begun to scratch the surface here. One thing
that bothered me though was I was using Deus fast and I dug tons of foil and aluminum. I could not
discriminate this foil or small aluminum out. So is it me or my machine that is having this problem.
I switched to Basic 1 just to test and foil could then be discriminated out. Also found a kids old toy boat that was
preserved in the dirt. Cool item. Anyway is Deus fast a totally different disc. system that allows foil or aluminum
not to be discr. out? Any help is greatly appreciated by you guys with The Deus Experience. I am really liking
this machine for the short amount of time I have on her.I own the 9 and 11 inch coil but have been using only
the 9" coil for now.. Happy TH'ing

You can eliminate some aluminum by switching frequency. When you find some, trying playing around with the frequencies to see what works.

What made the difference for you may have been a couple of settings

In Deus Fast you are running in 18kHz - in Basic 1 - 12 kHz
In Deus Fast you are running Silencer Off so you hear it all - in Basic 1 Silencer is up to 2 = quieter
In Deus Fast you are hearing Iron at a Volume of 2 - in Basic 1 Iron Volume is 0 = Off

That definetly sheds some more light on this machine functions
and as time rolls on I hope I figure all these different settings out
and when to use them.So much to know with The Deus!!!
