I bought this XP Deus in April of THIS YEAR (2012). It was with this unit that I found my very first gold coin. An 1859 Gold Dollar (Indian Princess design). I have also pulled alot of relics from Union campsites that my other detectors had overlooked.
Let me give you a heads up, and I am NOT saying this to try to talk you into buying this unit: This metal detector WILL bring those pounded sites back to life again. There IS a learning curve associated with pulling relics and/or coins from amongst carpets of old square nails, BUT this detector can also be used with the factory presets with great results. In fact, I found the factory presets to be as good as my attempts at creating a program. I have set the unit back to full factory mode. That is easily accomplished, along with the rest of the settings, by reading the manual. It would also help to join some Deus Forums, both here in the states, and in Europe.
This unit is FULLY FUNCTIONAL with NO hidden surprises. I'm not out to beat anybody. What I am OUT to do is to gather cash for another detector, a little cheaper this time. I don't have enough sites to hunt to warrant having such a hi dollar machine, it's extreme capabilities notwithstanding. You will be getting your money's worth. The price is firm. I think that it is quite fair. I have included shipping in the price. If you choose to pay by paypal, you can either add 3% or you can use the GIFT function and bypass the fees. Of course, I will also accept a Postal Money Order. It will be shipped when I receive the money order. Use the PM function for questions. This is an item with a larger than normal price. Therefore, we can exchange cell phone numbers in a PM and I can answer questions that way as well. The only cosmetic damage on this unit is on the upper rod where the paint flecked from being slid in and out of the collar when I was compacting it for storage in my house. The second pic tries to show it, but the flecking doesn't show up well. It is absolutely a non issue with me. It has nothing to do with the performance. If it bothers you, I'm sorry. Maybe another Deus will come along at this price.
