XP Deus Headphones

I am looking at maybe purchasing the XP Deus. What are most of you using as far as the headphones? Should I go with the backphones or over the head and why? Which is most comfortable? Do backphones stay on okay? Do both hear equally well? Thanks!

I went for the full phones, I don't hear well as it is and the WS5 block out a lot of outside noise. A friend had the Backphones and they didn't stay on well for me. He is going to get the full phones now. Good luck with what every you get. flintstone

Advantage of the back phones is you have options.
1) lightweight easy to travel with
2) add puck to one of many full headphones available
3) can use adaptor and plug earplugs or other headphones into it

If anything happens to whatever headphone solution you use, you just move the puck to another or replace the innexpensive portion.

I have WS4s backphones and like them.
They are light and cool in the summer months.
The sound is good and You can hear what's going on around you.
I also bought a pair of after market over the head full headphones with the adapter for the winter months.
IMO this is the best of both worlds

WS4's for me. They sound great while still allowing you to hear your pinpointer. I like hearing what going on around me also.

i have both and use the WS5 mostly to block out external noise. i think the ws4 is the way to go as EAvila said. use as ws4 or get Detenix over the ear and plug the puck into it. best of both worlds.

Might want to consider earbuds to the puck. Cooler than any headphones in the summer. Warmer with a stocking cap and/or hood in the winter than any headphones. Can leave one out if I am concerned about hearing surroundings better, although I usually can keep track with both in.

The cheap ones are not worth having IMO. The pair of Shure's I have cost more than my SunRay Gold Pro's and sound better.

I prefer the WS4 with the adapter, plug in the FX02 lightweight backphones. I can easily put a thick hat over them to keep the wind and rain out during the British summers.:ukflag:

X2 on this I have WS5 and a set of the Doo Dads for the puc that work great and have the same tones as the WS4 but like you I have bad hearing in one ear and need to block outside noise a lot .

The most versatile combo for me was chosing the WS4's and full cup Deteknix headphone for the puck to fit onto. The Deteknix product is probably one of the best accessories I have purchased so far for the Deus, very comfortable, just enough noise suppression to block out ambient noise whilst still being able to hear what is going on around you. The audio was also a clincher for me, nice and crisp and excellent for use with fulltones.

Thanks everyone! Got my new XP Deus today, went with the WS4s, remote, and standard 11 inch coil for now. Thanks again everyone for your great advice. Cant wait to try the Deus tomorrow!
