XP Deus vs F75 SE input needed

I've got the urge to try a Deus and was wondering how it would compare to my F75. I relic hunt 98% of the time. Anyone used both? I appreciate it.

Don't do it, you'll throw your F75 away after using the Deus! :throw:

Been considering to do just that with the CTX!! :nopity:

Alright, since noone else will reply I'll give it a shot. I actually own F75se, White's V3i, 2 Deus units, and CTX. For relic hunting Deus #1 in my book. The f75's ergonomics aren't bad, just not as good as Deus. I feel the Deus let's you sweep better. The rod on F75 forces you to get the coil too far away from you, and with long hunts the tiny bit of weight because if of the necessary rod extension will wear on you. The deus rod can be set to exact length for comfort and efficient coil swinging. The Deus is superior to F75/F75LTD/F75se when it comes to EMI. I can't speak for f75LTD-2, never run one. In poorer detecting soil I think the deus is better. The Deus tones are more intelligible than F75 series. The Deus' tone break capabilites are good, F75 series don't possess. The Deus can be operated on 1 of 4 freqs, F75 series you're stuck with 13khhz. Coil size for coil size Deus separates better than F75 series, disclaimer: the F75LTD-2 has a fast audio capability, again I've never used. Deus software can be upgraded via internet, not so with f75 series. Target ID for both units I would rate equal and inferior to CTX. Both units have good back lights for low light/night hunting. Deus is wireless, big advantage when hunting in tree limbs/brush and control head if purchased and taken can be used off of the detector's rod. Deus has filter adjustment, F75 series do not. Deus has recovery setting adjustment, F75series do not. I feel the notch system on Deus is better than F75 series, helps a lot with hunting in modern trash. Deus components have to be charged, F75 series use AA batteries and are very power efficient. The F75 series all metal may be better than Deus. I haven't used AM on either of my Deus units for searching. I'm hearing the Deus is hard to keep tuned.
Warranty for both seem equal, 5 years.
ps I noticed lately on a lot of youtube video, lots of Deus units are being used relic hunting CW sites in VA/TN/NC.

Good luck in your decision. I am strongly considering getting my f75SE upgraded to the LTD-2 version. If anything it will quieten it down and be a detector I can let a friend use or someone interested in getting started in detecting.
I use Deus the most out of all my units.

I would agree with the above with the exception of the ergonomics. The Deus is nose heavy compared to the balance of the 75ltd. A minor issue at worst. The 75 has many more coils to chose from for varying environments and at reasonable costs. The Deus has no alternative coils at reasonable costs because of the electronics and batteries within those coils. The 75ltd has boost and cache locating programs which the Deus does not although you can increase Tx power on the Deus if stepping on the gas will force it deeper---I doubt it. My ground never let me run the 75 above 80 % sensitivity much less use the boost or Je modes because of the high elemental iron content and the falsing it created while the Deus runs quite smoothly in the 90's.

The Deus is definitely the more innovative and advanced of the two but it's also nearly 50% more expensive even with the Euro falling and more when you consider the packages with coils that are not available to the Deus

Guys thanks so much. This is a hard decision for me. I'm ready to try something different and really can't afford to keep my F75 and buy the Deus. I really need to sell my F75. I'm not sure about all the setting on the Deus. A lot to think about.

I sent my f75 Camo LTD in as soon as I heard about the upgrade. I didn't have trouble finding things with the F75 except when the EMI was so bad I couldn't use it at all. Finding things came at a tremendous price. Total concentration on the signals. No day dreaming or distractions or you might miss the signal mixed into the constant barrage of noise coming out of the headphones. I know have it back and it is a real joy to use. You can actually hear yourself think. I won't give up my F75 because I love the BP and the new FA.
The Deus is so light and easy to swing. I found it pretty easy to pick up coming from the F75. It finds stuff in the basic programs but changing things up is easy once you get your nerve up. If I hunted long periods of time, like field relic hunts the Deus would be the winner. I thought the F75 was light and well balanced but really feel it after a few hours now that I am used to the Deus. If I were you I would give the Deus a try. It may not be perfect but it does a good job in almost all situations. The ease of swinging makes it a winner. Let us know what you decide.

The settings on Deus are a breeze. Don't let the settings issue be your deciding factor, else you'll make a mistake. If you know how to run a F75 fairly well, and with communicaton via this forum you could be hunting proficiently with it in 2 outings. The only thing I feel is the hardest with Deus is what a deep target sounds like. Once you hear one, you won't forget, trust me.

If you are new to detecting then any new machine will seem hard but the deus once you read the manuel and make a few changes if any you are really going to want to push the machine or pull back on it depending where you are hunting. A great machine with updates

I don't think the deus needs more coils unless they redesign their software for a smaller coil

I owned an F75SE for two years. Got a really good deal from Big Boys Hobbies. Found a local Deus dealer that was willing to give me within $50.00 of what I paid for it in trade for a new Deus.
All said and done I paid a little over $600 for my Deus in Nov. 2014. The F75 was a great detector, squirrel1 indicated in his well written post the capabilities of both, I would give the tip to the Deus.

I did very well with the F75 and used it primarily as my field, old habitation detector of choice.Last time I used the F75 it was at an old Fair site(now a farm field). Managed 4 shield nickels, 1 1860's Indian and an 1832 capped bust half dime, my first of a capped type.F75 was great but I didn't like the tones that well and balance was good but on 8hr. hunts I would get fatigued easily.Battery life was exceptional! The large VDI display was nice. For Park and campground hunting I always use my V3i and get coins pretty deep with an advanced VDI discriminated program that is working very well.

I haven't had time to use the Deus yet since I picked it up in late Nov., have some Health problems going on right now. My detecting partner and I have several old sites lined up as soon as the ground thaws here in Indiana.I have great expectations for the Deus. I lurk here on this Forum, got and read Andy's book and have set up some programs to try. The weight is a big plus, much lighter than the F75, the wireless capability and the 4 Freq. capability really sold me.Balance feels very good, batteries will be good for an all-day hunt.
My buddy has a really good test garden with several coins as deep as 10 inches with a few having a rusty nail next to them. My buddy got out his Minelab and I could pick up all of the coins with my Deus and he had some troubles with the ones next to nails.

Hope this helps.I know what my choice would be as long as you have the money for either one.:detecting:

The dues is a great machine with software updates. I am also interested in the new racer coming out..if you need any help let me know. I had the V3 the G2 and the F75 LTD and I still have my At Gold..the deus is so far my go to unit just take a couple of months to understand it but that is cool with me I like a challagne and once you understand it it is like a best buddy to go hunting with..

Thanks so much guys. I bought one. Supposed to arrive Saturday. I'm going to hold on to my F75 just in case lol. Where do I order Andy's book?

There you go. You will like it very much. Menus are layed out nice, very easy to navigate. You will find you can cover lots of ground quickly. Start hitting lots of iron, slow down. In hunted out sites this is where you will cash in on finds. Andy's book seems very good. Beepsilver who post here sold me his. There is some very good posts on the Deus here on this forum and on the Dankowski forum. Only thing is you need to be able to separate the post you are reading as far as the Deus versions go. Version 3.2 post are the ones to key on, especially pay close attention to reactivity, silencer and freq settings. These 3 settings are the bread and butter as far as proper Deus operation; depending on your ground and iron/trash environment.

You did what I did. I initially decided between the F75SE and the Deus, and bought the F75SE. A choice I would not change!
But I could not get the Deus out of my head, and bought one about 9 months after the F75SE. I like them both and would not want to be without either.
My upgraded F75SE2 is a joy to use! Very quiet and deep! Both are outstanding detectors, each having great features of their own.
You will enjoy using either one to hunt behind the other.

Part of the fun if you have the money is to hunt and test and learn and remember. I think the 75 with the small coil will be hard to beat but maybe Deus will honer us and make a small coil that will work now that the racer is coming out next month. So buy test and then sell what you don't like. Its that easy and of course you need some of that green stuff
