XP Operating question

I'm new to the Deus. Took it out for the first time today. My question is this. I have the WS4 Hphones and the remote. How does the coil decide which unit it's going to connect to? Does the remote automatically override the Hphones? Just curious.
Thanks

The remote and the headphones are paired with your coil. There's no overriding going on. If your remote is not paired but your headphones are, the headphones will work correctly and you will be allowed to make setting adjustments using the buttons on the headphones. (not the remote, plus if remote is on it will depict no coil).
And the same can be said in reverse. Remote paired but not headphones, setting adjustments can be made with remote, headphones will not work, hence no tones or adjustment capability.

LIke squirrel said. The remote and HP are both paired to work. Always though cut the remote on first if your using it with the headphones then the headphones. I think it states that in the manual however.

Can you elaborate on that? I know the manual states 1-turn the the remote then 2-headphones. Then it goes on to say to turn off 1-turn off the remote then 2-the headphones. But does anyone know if the order really critical or just the way they happened to have stated it? I think I've mixed it up and have never had issues. I would think the headphones and remote use their own communication channels and wouldn't interferre with the operation of each other. Thanks.

Not sure to be honest. I always did it in this order because I was told to and believe I read it in the manual. But as I look back at the manual I don't see it stated. Maybe I dreamt it. I am getting old and my mind needs an overhaul!!!!

Not sure this is what it is all about, but this is how I see it.
If you are running the remote and headphones you need to turn the remote on first so that it can load the programs
and then turn on the headphones so it can linkup with the remote.
My understanding is when running both when you adjust the remote it will automatically adjust the headphones.
when turning them off I don't think it matters what order you do.

When I took mine out for the first time. I didn't know about turning the remote on first. I turned my headphones. I noticed when I turned the headphones on I started getting feedback through them because the detector was still in my truck. I then got the detector out and turned the remote on. When I started making changes via the remote it automatically took over the coil I guess because I controlled the detector via the remote the rest of the time.
