XP use at the beach

Has any one used their Deus at a beach in So. Cal? The black sands and salt make the low tide wet area pretty rough.
I'm told it takes multiple frequencies or a PI unit to run smooth in the wet sand. Thanks.

I prefer the PI (I have a Dual Field) in the wet sand BUT the Deus is amazingly good. IT needs to have the ground balance dialed way down to about 5 to10. I am able to up the sensitivity to 90 or more from the 80 default. The trick is to recognize a "real" signal. You tend to get those "maybe" signals and they need to be ignored. What I like is the VDI of the target and skipping the bobbi pins and fish hooks.

I learned to use the Deus when my PI's batteries were dead. It forced me to try the Deus and I was actually amazed. Picked up some jewelry and coins. Since then every once in a while I use it.

I can't get mine to work in the wet salt sand. I use the 3030 or GT.

Have used on the beach east coast. Fair is what I would say ran pretty smooth not a lot of depth nickel about 8 in with large coil is the best I could get in the wet sand.

I use mine at the beach on a regular basis and so far in the few months I have been I use the wet beach programme, I do not pump it and it responds extremely well in the preset , for instance I got a very positive response from a target the other day and dug down some 15 inches and NO I am not exagerating to find a very old Silver threepence piece which is black at the moment, same day find
was a few $2. coins and a mood ring which is quite beautiful and which gave off a great sound, and all of this on an Adelaide beach here in South Australia in wet sand which is very hard to deal with for most other machines and I know because I have tried most of them.
