Xterra 505 and the beach question

digger1980

New member
I'm looking for helpful hints, I will be taking the 505 to the Jersey beach this weekend for the first time! Which coil would work best 10.5 midF or the stock? Should I change the settings? Thanks

If the beaches you are hunting are highly mineralized, use the DD coil. Besides, since they're both the same frequency, the DD will cover more sand with each sweep. Check your GB periodically, since you don't have the option of tracking. Hunt parallel to the water's edge, dry sand and wet sand separately. This will allow you to hunt more area without making adjustments to the GB or Sens. If you set your Sensitivity in the damp sand, you should be able to hunt the dry sand without chatter. Have fun and good luck. HH Randy
