xterra 70 and cold weather

went to a local park today, temp was 41 degrees and the menue button on my xterra was like in slow motion when I tried setting it up to hunt. Several times it would not show the menue at all and then after repeated pressing it finally showed the volume control but would not proceed on to the other menue items. I tried resetting to factory default but nothing seemed to help. Not for sure if it was the cold weather. I had a xterra 50 before this one and the menue button went flat and had to send it in to minelab. I can still feel the little snap in the menue button on the 70.

I hunt with mine when it is in the 30's and have never had that problem. I am not saying I will not have that problem . But I have had mine for a couple of years and it was used when I bought it and have never had a problem. What kind of batteries do you use? That may be a possibility.

I have had mine out at below 32 degrees and never had a problem. Have you tried it after it warmed up? I've heard of people rigging a hand warmer to their electronics when it is cold. Good luck.

I am visiting my son in california and have been leaving it out in the suv. It has been dipping down below 32 at night lately and I did buy it used on this forum about 3 years ago. Maybe its time for a checkup or a upgrade

When I had mine. I hunted a few times in the 20's. Even with snow on the ground. I did not have issues, Beale.
