hi everyone, iv'e been slacking lately for a number of reasons. summertime is not my best time of the year to go detecting, and never has been. i prefer old forgotten homesites, field hunts, and deep woods hunts where things used to be and happened. lots of research and asking around is involved in the way i play, so i use the summer months to do just that.
i also use this time of the year to get all my permissions straight and in order for the year. i'm looking into several hundred acres, with several different owners [and personalities], so getting thru that might be a chore.
i went out for a short while yesterday and recovered 3 civil war bullets - all .58 cal. 3 ringers. i was really surprised to find a clad 1965 quarter in the middle of the hunt! you just never know, do you? hh,

I can't blame you for not detecting much. I went out Saturday and after about 12 hours straight hunting (I eat and drink as I swing, addiction you know
), I was paying the price when I got home. But not without results! Will post later. I guess we all could learn a lesson on what to do during a down time, and when to hunt. Hot weather is down time (future research and reconnaissance), Winter is a down time (library research), every other time is DETECTING TIME, yippee
