Yesterday's finds at the Stone School field and at the school..

Pete in MI

Made 2 trips there yesterday...more wheaties (5 wheaties - oldest was 1930- D) were found along with couple of dimes, a nickel, some Mem pennies, a broken butcher knife, an old auto fuse, and some odd items. Also found a "925 Italy" necklace and a ring too! Here's some pics:

The left side coins are modern. The ones on the right are the Wheaties.

Here is the pic of the necklace markings:

The ring...think it used to be gold plated and had lost alot of gold off it...the stone fell out while trying to clean it up. Need to find my ultrasonic cleaner.

When I first pulled the ring out of the ground it was pretty banged up..thought it was a kid's ring. Once it was cleaned up it looked too nice to be a kid's ring.

So scored a couple of 'firsts': First silver necklace and first ring with the Explorer II. (Not going to count the ring as first gold until I find one that is marked with a K. No markings could be found on this one.)

Was surprised to find the dimes and the nickel more than I was to find the Wheat pennies. Certainly wasn't expecting to find a necklace or the ring.

There are so many crown caps from bottles at this place. Even with Crowncaps Xed out I still get plenty of em. Just don't want to miss silver so I dig them all. I am still not sure why I dig nickels. I mean the sound seems different for some reason so I dig but I can't ever remember what was different about it. That's 2 nickels I've pulled out and just can't remember why they were different.

Hope you guys and gals are getting out and finding some old stuff.
