Yesterday afternoon went to a spot at the back of the local showground for a couple of hours. It's right out the back in the middle of nowhere and a few years ago the area was fenced off and used over a couple of years to hold a local music festival. I've been over a couple of times before and just cherry pick the $1 and $2 coins. I'd found a few dollars when out popped a 1943 threepence. Bit strange as I'd never seen any predecimal coins here before. To cut a long story short I ended up with another threepence, 1924, two pennies, a halfpenny and the last coin for the day a nice 1944 florin. I don't know what was going on there but I hope I've just touched the edge because I'll be going back again....Thanks for looking....Ken.
:|, but you know I'm imnpressed. I gotta kid you again in a positive way. Most people find a whole bunch of new coins and a few old ones, (I think), but your almost the opposite. Most of your stuff seems to be old coins. You must be doing your homework, and I know you are to a large degree. I wonder what they used that show ground for before the music festival. Pretty interesting place. Love to hear about any future findings there. P Marc. :|P.S. Ken, by the way, I've read a lot of your posts, but I forget what coil you use the most. Are you using that WOT 15 incher, or just the standard Minelab 10.5. Just curious.
