Here's what I found at my CW spot yesterday. A small cal. round ball drop, a pc. that looks like a bullet mold sprue cut-off, a lead object that has been carved and is pointed on each end( could it be a pencil?) and a homemade looking brass rowel to a spur. The rowel and the carved lead object was in the same hole.

Is there a crease running the length of the lead pencil looking piece? I have found several similar.

It just appears to have been whittled and has flat sides to it, with points on each end.

You do have a lead pencil, although evidence does point to the occasional lead pin to replace broken iron pins, or other attachment devices. The brass rowel is a good find, now find a spur that needs a rowel Good hunting, David @ Dixie

I've already found 1 Richmond spur broken into two pcs. that has an iron rowel and a pc. of another Richmond spur that holds the rowel but the rowel is missing. The brass rowel was very close to the spur pcs. I found. I'm just waiting on those dang weeds to die down so I can hit some new areas, not that I've given up on the old ones yet.
